Hello and welcome back to my blog. I hope you have all been enjoying the summer in spite of the persistent record heat across the region. For my part I just got back from a camping trip in the Poconos (PA) where we had a mix of hot weather and heat storms in the evenings. August in the DMV is a unique moment—between vacation season and back-to-school prep, the rhythm of the region shifts. Whether you're catching the last summer sunsets on the Wharf, lining up for peach gelato in Old Town, or planning a Labor Day getaway, there's one thing you shouldn't overlook: the housing market. So let’s break down what’s happening across the District, Maryland, and Northern Virginia this month—on the streets  and  in the real estate world. ☀️ August Vibes Around the DMV August is a little bit quieter—locals are in and out of town, but DC doesn’t sleep. The  median sales price for condos in DC dropped 5% compared to last year , with an average days-on-market rising from...

With that being said, I am here to provide a breakdown of things to do over July 4th.   We all know July 4th marks America’s independence, but did you know DC didn’t exist in 1776? The city wasn’t officially established as the capital until 1790. Speaking of which -- want  a quick local history hit? Georgetown’s cobblestone streets were already bustling with trade during the revolution — long before becoming one of the city’s priciest zip codes. Meanwhile, here's a photo I took in 2023 while attending the spectacular firework display from the vantage point of the Lincoln Memorial.  ๐ŸŽ‡  Where to Catch the Action: July 4th Events in the DMV Here are some local events worth checking out this week: Washington, DC:...
